Megan & Anthony
1. Tell us a little about how you met
We met in UL in 2004 having both enrolled in Industrial Biochemistry. Anthony remained on the course but I transferred to Business Studies after 1st year but we kept in touch and in 2007 we got together on Valentines weekend.
2. Talk us throught the proposal (How did he/she pop the big question?)
Kilkee, Co.Clare is one of our favourite places to go together- my parents have a holiday home there. We set off on Wednesday in May 2015 to go to Kilkee for the night and head on a drive around the Wild Atlantic Way for a long weekend. Anthony however had other plans. Thursday morning we went for a walk on the beach in Kilkee before we were due to head off up the coast. We walked the whole beach and climbed over the rocky ground behind the pier and looking out to the sea Anthony turned to me and got down on one knee. I gladly accepted and he then told me he had the date set and the venue booked for Ballygarry House Hotel as I had always said I wanted our reception there! He gave me the most beautiful photo book containing photographs of our memories together up to that point and a gorgeous promise ring before whisking me off to Doonbeg to Trump International for the night. We still haven't managed to see the Wild Atlantic Way!!
1. Where was your ceremony?
Holy Trinity Abbey, Adare Co.Limerick
2. Where was your wedding reception:
The Beautiful Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa, Tralee Co. Kerry
3. Why Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa
We attended 2 weddings there in the past and both times I remember thinking to myself "These Guys are top of their game". The level of professionalism combined with the beautiful setting and outstanding food really made it a no brainer for us.
4. Tell us what was the most memorable part of your day?
Funnily enough the moment that always sticks out in my memory is the moment Padraig opened the doors for us into The Pavilion when we arrived at the reception and just seeing a sea of friends and family all clapping and smiling. The atmosphere in the room was electric- the fabulous jazz band, gorgeous cocktails, beautiful Christmas décor and the delicious canapés set the tone for a fantastuc night ahead.
5. Have you any advice for future couples?
Go with your gut, and enjoy every single millisecond of the day. In the capable hands of Padraig, Cathal and Co. you won't have the tiniest reason to worry about anyhting. Their attention to detail is second to none.
