Emer & Kevin
1.Tell us a little about how you met
I asked Kevin to my nurses ball in 2004. I then chased him for about 6 months and gave up. Then he decided he was actually interested and we started going out in July 2005 (That's the short version)
2. Talk us through the proposal (How did he/she pop the big question)
We got engaged on the 16th of March 2014 in Killarney National Park. We had picked out the ring together but the rest was his job alone. He got down on one knee when no one was in sight and popped the question. Although it was 9 years later, I was still shaking and we couldn't wait to let our family and friends know.
1.Where was the ceremony?
St.Bartholomew's Church, Dromcollogher, Co Limerick
2.Where was your wedding reception?
Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa
3. Why Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa?
We attended a friend's wedding there 7 years before. We were so impressed with the service, food and setting and we said we would have our wedding there.
4. Tell us what was the most memorable part of your day?
The rain!!! It was the 20th of August 2016 and it literally did not stop raining all day. I must say though, we have some beautiful umbrella pictures and actually laughed a lot that day joking about the weather. I think it made it special in a different way and everyone remembers it!
5. Have you any advice for future couples?
Try to be as prepared as you can in advance. It will ease the pressure and allow you to enjoy the day. You will be amazed how much has to be done the week of the wedding anyway. Also if you have spotted a hotel or profession you love from attending other weddings, book them early. It is frightening how far in advance things are booked! I really think a photographer & videographer are priceless. I know they do cost money but the day flies by and you forget bits of what happened. The video and photos after and lovely to have...memories for a lifetime!
The Dream Team
Ballygarry House Hotel Wedding Manager: Thys, he was amazing and he so supportive. He really guided us along the way, nothing was an issue. Also I cannot praise the staff enough. From the reception staff to the waiters/waitresses to the cleaning staff. There is no leaf unturned. I would get married there again in the morning.
