Amy & Alan
1. Tell us a little about how you met
We met through friends when we were teenagers nearly 12 years ago. We were each other’s first relationship and thankfully each other’s last !!
2. Talk us through the proposal (how did he/she pop the big question?)
Alan popped the question the night I gave birth to our son Feidhlim on the 26th of November 2016 .Just after I gave birth to him, we had a lovely moment in the delivery room, just the three of us , when the midwives left for a few minutes. It was a very special moment we will never forget.
1. Where was your ceremony?
St. Brendan’s church, Ardfert.
2. Where was your wedding recepton?
Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa Tralee
3. Why Ballygarry House Hotel & Spa?
We chose Ballygarry as, in our opinion, nobody does a wedding better then Ballygarry . We have attended many weddings here and every single time it has been truly amazing. Down to the very last detail. The food, the service.. Everything is always spot on! I, being a hairdresser , dealing with brides myself all the time had heard how fantastic everyone in the hotel was to deal with as well. In the time leading up to the wedding we met with Thys multiple times to go over everything and he always made us feel so at ease and we knew we had nothing to worry about. On the day itself, I just couldn’t get over how well the day is run. We literally wanted for nothing, the food was just divine as always, and all in all I thoroughly enjoyed it. I just couldn’t sing everyone’s praises enough!
4. Tell us what was the most memorable part of your day?
We really don’t have one part. So much planning went into the day in two years leading up to it so on the day we really just relaxed and let everyone we had chosen to be part of our day , whether it be the hair and make-up , the photographer, videographer, hotel etc., take over and we enjoyed every single part from start to finish.
5. Have you any advice for future couples?
The only advice we could give to future couples is just to enjoy the build up and the day itself so much and let people help, it is one day in your lives that so much time , planning, effort etc goes into and there really is no need for stress. Once you have chosen the right people and venue for your day, they know what they are doing so don’t worry and relax. I hear people saying all the time that they enjoyed it but wouldn’t do it all again with the stress they experienced. We would do it all again in a heartbeat .
